Review of The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett

Posted: June 9th, 2026

Rating: 5/10

Genre: Fantasy

Summary: "t's the night before Hogswatch. And it's too quiet.

Where is the big jolly fat man? Why is Death creeping down chimneys and trying to say Ho Ho Ho? The darkest night of the year is getting a lot darker...

Susan the gothic governess has got to sort it out by morning, otherwise there won't be a morning. Ever again...

The 20th Discworld novel is a festive feast of darkness and Death (but with jolly robins and tinsel too).

As they say: "You'd better watch out..."

Review:

I finished this book in... October? September? Like literally more than half a year ago... I honestly forgot that I read this book. It was fine? Like kinda disjointed and definitely not my favorite Discworld book. There were some banger lines and interesting points in the plot, especially the second half. Otherwise... kinda forgettable. Not a horrible book, but hard to keep your attention on it due to how many moving parts there are that seem unimportant until the last quarter of the book.
